Ankeey Garhi – Part 2

Ankeey Garhi - Part 2

“Tukaram Technologies Limited(TTL).  It is an IT company with only one branch. It specializes in testing the security strength of ATM machines. It has very few employees. Most of the employees are from Tukaram Institute of Technology(TIT). There are only a handful of non TIT employees.  Every year TTL holds a hacker cup, where it asks participants to hack ATM pins, the best and the brightest from all over India participate. The winner from every year gets a lucrative job offer at TTL. Sonakshi Sinha is one of the earliest winners of the hacker cup.”

“Sonakshi left the gym in haste. She was a very dedicated employee at TTL. Her M.Tech and PhD was sponsored from the company.  She did not even have a shower that day after the gym, despite knowing that she would not be able to have a bath at home as there was no hot water.

The route to TTL was unique. The closest major railway station was Sion. Sion is the last locality within the City limits of Mumbai. The Marathi name for Sion is Sheev , which means boundary or limit. In the 17th century the village formed the boundary between Mumbai and Salsette Island. It’s surrounded by Kurla, GTB nagar and Dharavi. One of the local historical places in Sion is a hilltop garden commonly known as Sion Fort or Sion Killa in native language Marathi. The employees of TTL had regular team outings at Sion Killa.

Sonakshi got down at Sion station from bus no. 38 she had boarded from the gym. From Sion station she took a shared auto towards Chunnabhatti. It took her 20mins in the auto to reach Chunabhatti IT Park, where her office was located. Anupam Kher had selected this location strategically, it was outside the Mumbai city boundaries, so there was less taxation, and it was still well connected to all parts of Mumbai. For employee benefit, he had also started share-auto facility from Sion station.

Sonakshi went to Tower 7, 6th Floor South Wing. Anupam Kher was waiting in the Olive Meeting room gathering data about Google company. He was reading the Wiki page of Google. He knew it would be tough job to make a profile similar to Google company profile, that was the exact reason she had called in for her smartest talent Sonakshi Sinha.

As soon as Sonakshi  entered Olive and saw the wiki page, she immediately said to Anupam Kher. “Why don’t we create our own Wiki page for TTL?” Anupam realized, he had done the wise thing by calling in Sonakshi, first words she spoke after coming to office were like Gold. It was a Gold Idea. TTL had a portal called ‘The Gold Idea’ portal. Sonakshi was very creative, every month she would at least give one new Gold Idea for the company.

“It’s a normal weekend for Uday Chopra. He along with his best friend Tushar Kapoor are playing table tennis at Bandra gymkhana. Both are best friends since school days. Both come from a very affluent family. Not many in Mumbai can afford the fees of TIT. It is located at a prime location in Bandra. TIT is a deemed university. It has its own syllabus and has a completely different exam pattern. The syllabus is focused on the products, practices and methodologies followed at TTL. All students who donate Rs. 10 lakh during admission, are also given an offer letter with 2 year contract in TTL during admission itself.

Tushar Kapoor also works at TTL. He is more brilliant then Uday Chopra, when it comes to IT. Tushar works as a DBA at TTL. He was placed in TTL without giving donation. Tushar Kapoor is brilliant in designing 3NF databases. Sonakshi has feelings for Tushar, but Tushar is a very straight forward and decent guy. He is very shy of girls. Uday Chopra loves Sonakshi, but Sonakshi loves Tushar. But Tushar  is not interested, not that he is gay, he is just not into Sonakshi yet.

After playing table tennis, both go to Tushar’s place for lunch. Tushar is a foodie, her mom cooks wonderful food. Every Saturday Tushar invites Uday at his place for lunch. On that day lunch was Dum Aloo Kashmiri, Veg Kolhapuri, Undhyu, Basundi, Puri, Dal Fry, Jeera Rice and Chaas. After lunch they play games on Sony Playstation 3. Their favorite games are FIFA, Cricket and NFS. Uday Chopra is very good in sports and games, he always wins against Tushar. Tushar never stops trying, he tries to improve every time.

Uday gives some tips to Tushar everytime about gaming, and Tushar in return gives him some tips on Sudoku and Crosswords. Their friendship is very strong, however Uday does not know that Sonakshi has feelings for Tushar, how long before he knows? How will it affect their friendship when he comes to know?

Ankeey Garhi – Part 1

Preface

I love reading Dan Brown novels. I always wanted to read Digital Fortress, many of my friends suggested, I would like it, but I never got the time. Finally I got one and started reading. It is breathtaking, already finished 50 pages of it!

As a tribute to the novel, and as a tribute to my amazing creativity and magnificent writing skills, I decided to write the script of Bollywood remake including the star cast of Digital Fortress. The name of the film is ‘Ankeey Garhi’ , it is the actual translation of the English words ‘Digital Fortress’. Another piece of awesomeness from me after the highly successful,  ‘Untitled series’.

First scene starts now:

“Anil Kapoor is seen struggling on the roads of Dharavi. He is almost about to die, lot of people gather around him. They do not take him to hospital as this is a police case. The inspector of BKC police station is informed via phone, but he is at an awards function and does not give a damn about it…”

Next scene:
“Sonakshi Sinha is doing workout in Gold Gym. There are 3 trainers, and 2 body guards around her. She has a personal DJ while doing workout. Also she uses a voice to text speech software to use Whatsapp simultaneously while doing her exercise.

Sonakshi Sinha. She is a Computer Science B.Tech graduate from IIT Kharagpur, she has done her M. Tech from IIT Bombay in Analysis of algorithm(specializing in bubble sort algorithm), and she has a PhD in Crytography (her thesis area was how to optimize the time complexity of bubble sort algorithm to sort a series of 2 digit numbers).

Sonakshi Sinha is working for 'Tukaram Technologies Limited' as a Test Engineer. Her job is to test the time complexity to decipher 4 digit ATM pins of Vilasrao Bank using Brute force method. She is a lovely 35 year old women, with wonderful hair, and a good sense of style. She is the only female worker at Tukaram Technologies.”

Next scene:
“Uday Chopra is taking an English teaching class. He is a developer at Tukaram Technologies. He has done his Engineering from Tukaram Institute of Technology, and got placed on campus for the job. His package is more than that of Sonakshi Sinha. However currently he is on bench as there is no development work in the company.

Uday Chopra met Sonakshi Sinha on his first day at cafeteria. Sonakshi Sinha wanted pure veg food, and was new to Mumbai.  She did not know what to eat, and she did not know Marathi. Everyone speaks Marathi in Tukaram Technologies, sometimes they even do coding in Marathi(whenever they get some work, or they do coding as part of internal elevation program). As Uday Chopra is currently on bench, he “tries” to solve Sudoku and the Crossword of The Times of India. Every week, he tries to solve at least one of each.”

Next Scene:
“Anupam Kher is the founder and CEO of Tukaram Technologies. He is a very intelligent and powerful person. In reality Tukaram Technology is not what it looks for outside. It works for a big unknown, unheard organization. It works for an organization called 'Tarbuch Aadmi Party'. Tarbuch Aadmi party is a newly found political party, which wants to free India from corruption.
All the employees at Tukaram Technologies have no idea about the hidden, and undercover projects that they do. It is all done in the name of ‘Elevation Program’.”

Next Scene:
“Suddenly the battery of Sonakshi Sinha’s phone gets over. It is a Saturday, such things never happen on a Saturday. Sonakshi is a very critical resource at Tukaram Technologies. She immediately contacts Anupam Kher  via landline at Gold gym, that her mobile will be unavailable till next couple of hours, she was on call that day.

Anupam Kher tells him, a new project from a new client is in the pipeline. She will have to reach the office by afternoon 2PM, to design a fake powerpoint profile of Tukaram Technologies, it should be as good as the Google company profile. He also promises her, she will get 2 VadaPavs for lunch and one Misal Pav for dinner on company expense. Sonakshi Sinha immediately stops her workout and heads to office in bus number 38.”

100 posts..5 years..

I started blogging in 2008. My first post was on my mom's birthday that year. Also it was, when I just finished my graduation in Computer Engineering. I really love writing, I have passion for it, also I believe it is a very good way to look back at time, and relive some wonderful and special moments in life.

I remember my first ever job at First Source, I was waiting for my joining date at Infosys, and wanted to do something productive. It was a wonderful experience. I worked for one month, just attended training for our client British Telecom. Project name was Talk Talk. Then came the moment, 20 days in my first job, I got joining date of Infosys. I spent very short time at First Source, but it was my first job. I had a lot of fun, and I also learnt a lot.

So 10th November 2008 was my joining date at Infosys. I can see this was one of the most crucial period of my career. Working for such a big company, I was nervous and excited. I was definitely overwhelmed when I saw their Mysore campus. I am really proud to be associated with Infosys. I posted a couple of experience, one after one month at Infosys and one after six months. I feel great reading about the wonderful time I had there. Also there is the Transformation post on how I started spending lavishly on branded products, and the One year completion post. I was in MQ training during that time in hyderabad.

I moved to Bangalore for my first production project. It was for MQ Support, client was Northwestern Mutual. I remember the post of Christmas 2009 in Bangalore, I really looked different then. I really had nice time in Bangalore with lots of parties and outings. 13th feb 2010 taught me a few things too. My time in Bangalore was wonderful. I learnt a lot in my first project, also I had lots and lots of fun.

Then I had health problems, I had to undergo back surgery. I was on leave for more than a month. Once I resumed office, I joined Pune campus of Infosys. Another chapter in Infosys history, after Mysore, Hyderabad and Bangalore. I worked in the Hinjewadi phase 2 campus of Infosys. It was for microsoft project. I really liked the food there, lots of options. I specifically remember the super size paratha we used to get in the BPO cafeteria. I stayed in Pune for couple of months, and then I was back to hyderabad on short term transfer.

I had lot of night shift in hyderabad. So lot of time to write philosophical stuff, mixed with astrophysics. I stayed in the guest house in hyderabad. 28th November 2010 was again a memorable day. I got a new mobile, Samsung Wave 723, it is still working great for me! Another post coming from night shift in hyderabad, which I am proud of: The Rational Philosophical Thinking.

Then came 2011. A very memorable year for my life. The year when I went to USA for the first time. A year when I quit Infosys. A year when Indian won the cricket world cup.  Also 2011, was the time when I started working on my sci-fi novel. The Untitled Series.  Also 2011, was when I completed 10 years of vyaskartik2001. I started my grad studies at Purdue School of science. I could not adjust to the live by yourself lifestyle in US, I also could not manage job along with studies. Food and weather were also a problem. All these factors resulted in bad health and coming back to India.

I started searching for a job. After 2 months, I finally got a job as a contractor in Amdocs. Amdocs is a lot different than Infosys. Here, employee care is given more importance as compared to Infosys. The work culture is great. Lot of fun events throughout the year. I am also lucky to be in a good team with good management. I will finish 2 years in Amdocs soon. Time has certainly passed quickly. I have lots and lots of memorable moments at Amdocs, one of them being meeting Anna Hazare. I have not written any post about life at Amdocs, like I have done for Infosys, but I do have lots of photo albums on facebook of the wonderful time I have had here.

Also I have blogged a lot about cricket in this blog. Like every Indian I am an avid fan of cricket. I have also blogged a lot about technology, something you would expect from a Computer Engineer. Today is 29th Dec, 2013. Everyone has plans for the 31st. I don't know what I would be doing, but today I felt wonderful recalling the past 5 years of my life. Hope 2014 is a wonderful year for everyone!

Untitled Part 3 - The Ant Relativity

Link to Untitled Part 2: http://cartikvyas.blogspot.in/2011/05/untitled-part-2-logic-is-undeniablewhen.html

Untitled Part 3

It all started that night. The night of 20th November, 2013 (Star date: -310885.08). Still long time for star date zero to come. Another important chapter in the history of the universe. The story is about Mr. K. The story is about a simple human being, whose astonishing thinking ability, helped the human species, not only meet The Prime but also instrument the concept of time travel. This chapter reveals yet again, how the power of a human, changed the fate of human species for good.

Mr. K was a master of The Theory of Relativity. He was one of kind, with the likes of Da Vinci, Galileo, Newton and Einstein. Not only Mr. K understood the theory perfectly, but also extended it to help human species evolve, and travel across the universe in space and time. Theory of Relativity mainly explains and justifies the following 3 concepts: First- Measurements of various quantities are relative to the velocities of observers. In particular, space and time can dilate. Second - Spacetime: space and time should be considered together and in relation to each other.Third - The speed of light is nonetheless invariant, the same for all observers. These 3 concepts were extended to a fourth concept by Mr. K called 'The Ant Relativity' - Every species has it's own limitation, a species cannot think about dimensions and comprehend facts, for which it is not evolved enough.

Coming back the the night of Star date: -310885.08. It was the onset of a season called winter, which is characterized by comparative lower temperatures. Mr. K was trying to sleep, due to the lower temperature the fan was kept off. Due to this, there were mosquitoes buzzing around Mr. K, and he could not sleep and then he started thinking. What is the world of a mosquito? What does it do in it's lifetime? Humans have knowledge of physics, and have evolved enough to understand the actualities of the universe. It can explain the mechanics of atoms and quarks, as well as the realities of the milky-way and the universe. A simple little mosquito has no idea about these things.

A mosquito, has no idea who human beings are! A mosquito does not even know, that it is called a 'mosquito' by human beings. It is simply incapable of things, human beings are capable of. The Life Cycle of a mosquito involves 4 stages- Egg, Larva, Pupa and Adult. The average life span of a female mosquito is 3 to 100 days. the male lives 10 to 20 days. Also there are many interesting facts about mosquitoes which make it different form humans.

The point of all above is, keep a human being in place of a mosquito. A human being also has a lot of limitations. Human beings, can understand the actualities of the universe, but as of Star date: -310885.08, has not even traveled to another planet in it's own solar system. Humans are like mosquitoes, or even an ant for that matter. The question to ask is: Is there a species, which is superior to humans, and which always keeps an eye on the humans from the distance of the infinite space. There may be a concept of Realms, where there are 7 Realms for example. Seven different universes, all parallel in time and space. Humans are simply not evolved enough to understand or even think of a possibility of such a complexity.

The concept of the thread. The divine thread that binds all the objects in a universe. The concept of hangers, hangers where the solar systems are aligned to. Simply unbelievable and unthinkable concepts exist in the universe or universes. Humans will not be able to understand them, until they contact another species, and learn from it. It's an analogy to humans teaching a thing or two to mosquitoes about human life. It sounds impossible, but with Mr. K, anything is possible...

One must not underestimate, the power of humans. Same as other species like ant, who are capable of doing things that humans find astonishing, humans will also reach great heights in the fields of physics, mathematics and astronomy. Humans will one day define the infinite and go beyond it, go beyond the speed of light, beyond the limitations of the universe...

^^ Nehru, Tendulkar and Dhyan Chand ^^

In my last post, I talked about Tendulkar going to retire from Test matches, and effectively from all forms of cricket. I remember that day, I got up early, after doing late shift the day before, and went to the gym. Not to work out, but to watch Sachin Tendulkar bat for one last time. I was feeling very sad, and there was a pain in my heart, as I was watching him bat, I knew this would be the last time I am doing it live. For someone born in the 80s, who grew up watching him, it has become a part of our life, and now we don't have it.

India did manage to defeat West Indies by an innings again in the second test match, wrapping up a 2-nil white wash. Sachin made 74 in his last innings, Rohit Sharma made another hundred, now he has 2 in his first 2. Sachin also gave one of the most emotional speeches on his farewell test match, only reading through it made me emotional. The government declared a Bharat Ratna for him. He certainly does deserve it, however there is a twist, read on...

So what I did is, lets check the list of people who have got Bharat Ratna till now. So, as expected there is a wiki page for it.Here it is.  So till now 43 people have received Bharat Ratna.  All of them are great men and women in their own right. But then I see the name of Nehru, Indhira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi and I think, well they are politicians. This award is for performance of highest order, and it is given by the government. So should politicians be given this? I think it is not fair, any government would always glorify and publicize its ministers, especially if the government is a corrupt one like congress. Politicians should NOT be given this award, its a mockery and insult of it.

So lets see what has Nehru done, what has he done of highest order that he got this award? To start with, after Independence Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was most popular to become the Prime Minister. He was the one who united India, and was one of the founding fathers of our great country. But Gadhiji favored Nehru, as Nehru had international education and Gandhiji thought it would help India in international affairs. Sardar Patel backed off, and Nehru became first prime minister of India. However the international barrister committed lot of serious blunders, because of which we are still suffering.

First mistake is freeing Sheikh Abdullah from Kashmir Jail.  Second mistake is declining the US offer of a permanent seat at the UNSC in 1953. Third is calling UN ceasefire when Indian troops were going to win back the whole of Kashmir including the present PoK. Fourth is Indo-Chino war of 1962, his foreign policy failed. He could have taken help from America, but he didn't. Fifth mistake is not allowing rehabilitation of millions of Hindus from Kashmir valley, and East and West Pakistan.  Due to this, millions of Hindus were killed, raped or converted to Islam. And yes...after all that Nehru got the Bharat Ratna, and that too before Sardar Patel!

With the recent Bharat Ratna given to Tendulkar, there are debates about why one was not given to Dhyan Chand.? Well frankly, I had no idea who he was. He was one of the greatest hockey players of all time. It was during his time, that India won three gold medals at the Olympics. Yes those were the times when India dominated the sport of hockey. He played during a time, when there was not much media coverage, no social media whatsoever. He was a great goal scoring machine. He was called as a magician with the hockey stick. Winning a gold medal in Olympics is still considered as a miracle for India, and if someone does that, he is awarded millions. Dhyan Chand won three of those for our country, but still his last days were not very happy. He was short of money and was badly ignored by the nation. He developed liver cancer and was sent to AIIMS New Delhi in general ward. He died on 3rd December 1979.

The more you read about Dhyan Chand, the more you get fascinated, and wish you had a chance to see him in action. Scoring 20 or more goals for a team, and scoring 10 goals for an individual in just a single game, simply shows the dominance of a team, and the magical skills of an individual. Yes those were the golden era of the Indian hockey team, the era of Dhyan Chand. He certainly deserves a Bharat Ratna too...

3 Movies and Sachin Tendulkar

To start with, last blog post was written when I was in the midst of watching TBBT, so it was highly influenced by that. Apology if anyone found it weird or rude or confusing...Well back to sanity, I saw 3 movies in the last 10 days. Good thing about having a job, you can watch almost all the movies, something which was a constraint in the college days. I saw these 3 movies recently: Krrish 3, Thor 2 and Captain Phillips.

To start with Krrish 3,it's a good movie, I really liked the action and the special affects. Direction is also good. Songs are something which could have been better. However, still it crossed the 200 Crores gross. That's a good achievement. One more reason, why I like this movie in particular is, it is about an Indian super-hero. I am in to super heroes since long time, Superman, Spiderman, The Hulk...and now Krrish 3, it gives me a feeling of pride, that our superhero is right up there with all of them!

One more reason to support the above argument is, I saw Thor 2 after Krrish 3. I did not find Thor 2 few times better than Krrish 3. Thor 2 was in 3D, but still did not outshine Krrish 3. However, I would like to add that Thor 2 is a good movie too. There are not many 3D effects, but still it has a story, it has lots of interesting concepts like the '7 Realms' and the 'convergence'. The dark matter 'ether', is also there in the movie, so to sum it up, someone like me who has interest in astrophysics and the origin of universe kinda stuff along with liking for superheroes, this movie is a treat!!

I saw the third movie today. Captain Phillips. It's about a US cargo ship being hijacked by Somalian pirates, and how the US Navy saves the Captain of the cargo ship from the pirates. Tom Hanks, plays the role of the Captain, and he is simply amazing. Surely a contender for best actor at the Oscars. Also the movie shows the might of US Navy. I especially love the scene when the snipers bring down the pirates in the lifeboat. The dialogue is "Stop the tow..Execute". Defining moment in the movie for me. However, I think cargo ships should have some security, as they carry tonnes of valuable cargo and go through hostile waters. This is a true story, and I thought, having even a dozen armed guards or a dozen US Navy people would have helped a lot in this case, or for any case where pirates try to hijack a cargo ship.

Finally Sachin Tendulkar! I have posts for Dhoni, Dada and Dravid in my blog. But still no post of the great master blaster, the God of Cricket. He is going to play his last test match , 200th one, against West Indies on 14th November, 2013. He has retired from all other forms of cricket. I still have the pictures, which I used to cut from the newspaper, when I was in the school in the 90s(There was not much internet then). I have a file of Sachin's photos!

I think no blog or no comment can do justice to the greatness of this legend. Still I would try to write something interesting soon. However, I did notice one thing today, there is a show on Star Sports called 'Sachin Sachin', and there, everyone discuss the greatness of the man. Rahul Dravid, was also there. He being a great legend himself, it show great humiliy and humbleness in coming to that show. He was always overshadowed by Sachin, but still he was always happy to play under that shadow, and is still happy to talk about him. #Respect

Life at ~27.75

Bazinga!!I don't use Bazinga, only when I crack a joke, I also use it in some of my exotic blog posts, like this one!It may or may not include a joke though. This is Kartik Vyas, writing post number 97.00, and today is star date 67383, yes if you don't believe me, check this link out.  Also one thing worthy of noticing is that star date is not only determined by the date, but it also takes into account the current hour and minute...fascinating isn't it!

Speaking of the word fascinating, fascinating implies something that is of great interest, or attraction, enchanting, charming or captivating, well in this case it would imply captivating.

Let's get back to the subject, it says Life at ~ 27.75. Well here 'at' does not mean, the usual I am 'at' a restaurant kind of 'at', it implies, I am 'at' a certain stage of life, which in this context defines the 4th dimension of the time-space continuum, confused? I mean TIME!

Then you might wonder, what is the '~' sign? Well for any person who is a mathematician, which I would like to add, is more inclined towards using it, it means many things. Well to start with, it means, probability distribution, or  row equivalence or asymptotically equivalent, or a simple equivalence relation. How do I know? I know everything, because I am a genius and I have an eidetic memory. Well I would also like to add, I have an IQ of 187!

Also, I would like to record in my blog, today is 10th August on Earth, and right now session 3 of day 2 of the fourth ashes test series is going on. To be more precise, currently the 71st over is about to start, where Australia are trailing by 31 runs, with 5 wickets in hand. England have already retained the Ashes, a good thing to know in case, I succeed in time travelling, and I come back in time to the start of the series, I could win a lot of money. But again, if I were to do so, the proposition that I would have written this blog seems unbecoming. Well, I may have already traveled to the future and written a blog which would be independent of the fourth dimension of the continuum, which again is TIME!

I would also like to add, that in my current human form, on the current planet earth, on the current date, I played ping pong! Actually called as Table Tennis, it  is governed by the worldwide organization International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), founded in 1926. ITTF currently includes 218 member associations. The table tennis official rules are specified in the ITTF handbook.Since 1988, table tennis has been an Olympic sport with several event categories. In particular, from 1988 until 2004, these were: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles and women's doubles. Since 2008 a team event has been played instead of the doubles. Well getting back to the topics of today, I did win 87.50 of all the games I played today.

I would also like to say that I have found a spot in my room, a spot where my seat is directly facing the opposite wardrobe mirror, so I can see who is coming and going inside the house, and it is also perfectly aligned with the fan inside the room, with respect to all three dimensions.

Today is Saturday, today was the Aloo Pulav day, usually I had Aloo Pulav day on Fridays , but after my change in shift roaster, where I have days off on Sunday and Monday, as compared to Fridays and Saturday, I had to make a change in my routine. Tomorrow, is Sunday, tomorrow is go to Amanora mall day, which I am planning to change to go to Seasons mall day. The mall is just opened, and is nearby my apartment. Also, after my new roaster changes, Monday's have become watch a movie in mall day, its very convenient to get a ticket, as other homo sapiens, go to office and I can easily get a ticket. I am planning to watch the movie Wolverine this Monday, and then I would also go the the Crossword book store, which is a must whenever I go to the Amanora mall.

I would like to conclude this blog number 97.00, by saying........err BAZINGA!!!

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag: The Legend of the Flying Sikh!

Well it's Monday evening, and I have a day off. Monday's are off now, as I work on Saturday. It feels really good, Saturday is not that hectic, so it's like 3 days of off every week. Life is going good.

Yes, so back to the subject. I saw this much awaited movie today. The movie is really good. Nice music, wonderful acting by Farhan Akhtar. Also, the way, the story was told, is a bit similar to it was in Rang De Basanti, it's wonderful direction, by the same director: Rakeysh Mehra. Also Farhan Akhtar, has really worked hard to get the fadu body, which he shows off, ever so often in the film.

The best part of the movie was, Milkha Singh, beating the Pakistan competitor in Pakistan by a big margin in the end of movie. We always love to beat Pakistan in sports, don't we?

I just went through the wiki page of Milkha Singh, and everything in the movie is written there, in the same sequence. I was looking for some extra information. I din't get much, apart from the fact that, he was 1 of 15 siblings.

Achievements of Milkha Singh include, winning the gold medal in the Common Wealth Games and the Asian Games. That is really a moment of proud for us. He was a top contender in the Olympics of 1960 as well, he did a mistake and came fourth. He slowed down in the final parts of the race. He was in fact leading the race at one point. Ne ways, he had went through a lot in life, and he has done us proud. He is still, the only Indian athlete, to have won and individual gold medal in the Common Wealth Games, and yes...wonderful movie, must watch!

MS Dhoni: Champion of Champions!!

What a day it was yesterday! Final between India and England for the Champions Trophy. India the favorites, showing tremendous form and remaining unbeaten in the tournament. England having the home advantage, with familiar home conditions and quality bowling attack. India's batting on the other hand was clicking superbly, however the middle order was not tested yet.

To make things more interesting, the rain God's decided to make their presence felt. It rained frequently and there was no reserve day to make things worst. Finally in the evening, the umpires decided to have a 20 over match. England had already won the toss, and decided to field, sighting the wet conditions, an early advantage for the Poms.

India went into bat, but had 3 breaks due to rain. Well, it does affect the concentration of the batsmen, who has to come on and off the field and start all over again. To make it more challenging, it was a shortened game and there was no time to settle in again and again. Due to all this, some batsmen perished in the cause of making quick runs, before getting settled. Finally, India managed 129, thanks to good knocks by Virat Kohli and Sir Ravindra Jadeja.

England play a very different side in T20, then what they play in a 50 over game. Without their specialists players, they were found wanting at 46 for 4. A big and potentially match winning partnership between Morgan and Bopara, saw them in good position to make it home. Then , Ishant Sharma bowled an over where he gave away a six and 2 wides, well he did get both the settled batsmen out too, in the same over.

Finally, England tumbled after those 2. Last 2 overs were bowled by spinners. A master move from Dhoni, which payed off. 15 required off the last over, 6 off the last ball. It could have gone either way with Tredwell on strike, he went for the big six, missed it and Dhoni, Team India and more than a billion people were ecstatic, Dhoni had delivered once again for India!

MS Dhoni, he has one each and every trophy. T20 world cup, ODI World Cup, Test Championship, One Day Championship, IPL, Champions League and now the Champions Trophy. Dhoni, is a wonderful guy with great temperament. Always lets his team celebrate and goes away from limelight, and always takes the blame if the team is not doing well...what a wonderful captain indeed.

Comparisons with Ganguly will always be there, is he better than Ganguly, well I would say, better by leaps and bounds. I am a fan of Ganguly too, but Dhoni has got all the results and trophies for India. One might say, Ganguly had laid the foundation for the 2011 World cup, but Dhoni has done a lot more after that!

Superman is back!

It's been a while. Last post had come on January 26th, and a lot has happened, some things good, some things bad, well gladly most of them are good. For starters, I got converted to Amdocs pay roll from Magna Infotech, so that's like a personal milestone. Another good thing happened is more settled at work with no night shifts since quite a while. Also another good thing is I joined the gym finally! Went to my first ever aerobics class and also learnt a few Bollywood dance steps.

Cricket, well yes that's what I blog about most of the time. Mumbai Indians won the IPL this year, 2013 defeating CSK in finals. Sadly it was Sachin's last IPL, but well...all good things come to an end. Before IPL, India spanked the Aussies, 4-nil in the test series at home, it was a series where Shikhar Dhawan came good and the emergence of Sir Ravindra Jadeja. Currently champions trophy is going on in England. India beat Sri Lanka in the semis today, to meet England in the final, it has been a boring and dominating performance from India throughout. Somehow, I feel, this India team is equal to the team Australia was in Steve Waugh era, and it will dominate the cricketing world for a while.

What else do I blog about, well Samsung launched Galaxy S4, it's pretty pricey, but I gotta say it's quite worth it. I did get a chance to play with it and it's amazing. Apple came out with it's iphone 5, but it still has the boring UI it had all these years. iOS 7 seems fresh, but speculations are it has been inspired from various places. Well those things are gonna be there forever in the tech world.

Well talking of technology. Courseera.org is a fabulous site I have been using to take courses. It led me to learn Python and it's fun. Always dreamt of being a programmer, surely learning some programming these days.

Well, finally coming back to the subject. Today I saw Superman- Man of Steel. And yes...at the end of the movie I did feel like flying back home with my fist in the air. On a serious note, it's a good movie, has a story, well logical story to give some credit. Good action ....and most importantly, Superman learnt how to wear the underwear ;) . It's definitely worth a watch. Well speaking of worth a watch, I also saw, Now You See Me,  last Sunday, that's pretty good too, only the ending is a but dull, but good fun. One movie to watch in my list is, The Dark Knight, many say it is the best super hero movie ever, well I din't like it the bit of which I say the first time, because everything is in dark environment, which I don't like, will see it again though..

Global Warming...hmmm summer was too hot in India, it's raining like hell now. Cloud bursts in Uttarakhand, lots of lives lost. Too much damage, well it's easy to say things, everyone should try to give their bit and help the ones affected, after all they are also Indians and more importantly humans like us.

Manchester United. I enjoy having debates about it with my colleagues in office. Well they did win the EPL this year, but the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson retired and how good the new guy is...lets keep fingers crossed. Jose Marinho  ....hope I spelled right is back to Chelsea to add some spice to EPL. Bayern Munich is currently the best team in the world....gosh too bad I have never seen a single match of theirs :(

Finally, the funny thing about the new Superman movie is Superman and bad guy hit each other through buildings and iron rods, but nothing happens to them. And...how does Superman kills the bad guy...by simply  twisting his neck....that even we can do :P :P
