One month at Infosys

This is a post after a long time so its gonna be a long one...
Well guess what I am an Infoscion now, already over a month gone at Infosys, I am having the time of my life. I am living life kingsize. I have my own personal room fully firnished with an LCD tv, daily room service, a king size bed, and very good bathroom, but I am in the room only at night to sleep.

Well my training is going on, pretty hectic ,have to attend lectures, do assignments and projects and all, its a very good learning experience. I was struggling to get an A ,but in my last test I scored 90% to get an A, it is a very satisfying feeling.

The dress code here is to be followed very strictly and I like wearing formal shoes, tie and all ,so enjoying that too..We have 5 food courts here and also subway and dominoz pizza,so that is where I fulfill my apetite.

Some days back was a very bad day, it was 26/11/2008, some terrorists took hold of the famous taj mahal hotel and captured several hostages, also at various other places in mumbai experienced bomb blasts..It was a grim day for all of us mumbaikars...

Cricket..India beat Australia in the test series, the Border Gavaskar trophy. Also in the current test series against England ,we chased down a challenging target, the first day of second test is going on now, the score is india 163 for1. After Kumble retiring from test cricket , Dhoni has took over the captaincy and has a 100% track record and looks good to keep it for now.

Also tomorrow is Bhakti's wedding and my thread ceremony, hope everything goes well and everyone have fun..i am right now at banglore airport waiting to board my flight 2 hours from now.

What else I have made many new friends at INfosys, its lots of fun...I also took part in one of the competitions here where we were shown a picture and we had to write an essay on it, i did pretty well ,was not expecting to win but was hoping to win,but unfortunately I didnt.

I have taken many pictures of my room and the campus I will upload them at snapfish, also I will upload some here now, if I can.

Barack Obama

He is the new President of United States of America. He is the first black President of United States of America. During election there was a record number of turnout of people to cast their vote...Obama was the outright favorite and Obama eventually won.

He owns the word "Change", certainly giving the people of USA and all around the world a hope of a change in the current economic scenario, he is no mug though ,he is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, we can rest assure of the "Change".

He is expected to take office as the forty-fourth President of the United States on January 20, 2009. He also is currently the Junior United States Senator from Illinois. Obama is the first African American to be elected President of the United States, and was the first to be nominated for President by a major U.S. political party.Obama is also the first candidate born in Hawaii to have been nominated and subsequently elected president.

A graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, he became the first African American to serve as president of the Harvard Law Review. Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving three terms in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004. He taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. Following an unsuccessful bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000, he announced his campaign for the U.S. Senate in January 2003. After a primary victory in March 2004, Obama delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004. He was elected to the Senate in November 2004 with 70 percent of the vote.

Obama has a very dashing personality and is confident of what he is doing, he is very young and energetic and he is more like the Bill Clinton in all respects may be better than him, he is certainly way better than Bush, at least as far as English goes..........lol. He is the people's president , he is also like some kind of celebrity, the way people react to him when they see him, it seems so. He is young and promising and we all keep our fingers crossed in the hope that he brings the "Change" he has promised.

Superman

Today was a very significant day of my life...i will never forget today...1st November 2008, many reasons. To start with today I came to know abt Superman, how a boy turned into a man and a man turned in to a Superman...

Well today I informed everyone that I am leaving first source as i received my first salary a kool 11k, I will resign on Monday, I am looking forward to a new life.. life at Infosys..it will be a whole new world and I will be on my own..I plan to get into a better shape and built up some more muscles if possible! offcourse job comes first!

Since the last 3 days ,the drop tht we get till our home has been very good for me, the car crusing at 110kmph ,zooom. I never enjoyed night life in mumbai, but zooming at 110kmph while listening to 93.5 is my idea of a fun night out...especially when it is at company's expense.

A1. This has some significance in my life too! When I take a new number I save it as A1 in my phone book, new number implies my new number...the above sentence may sound weird but well....I am feeling sleepy so not sure wht all i am typing.

In my preprocess training , I learnt abt the UK culture, and abt the queen, her royalty and all , I simply love the Queen. Also in my training I learnt a lot abt, telephone networks and computer networks...I also learnt that u pronounce telephone as telaphone and apologise as appologise and many other such things. Also I was the hummer of the class.. I used to do the biggest hummmmmmm.

I will never forget all the friends I made, Pavan, Vinay, Nitin, Somesh, Darshan, Junaid, Steve, Chetan, Naireet, Anand, Afrina, Jatin, Saurabh and Nidhi.....love you all!

HAPPY DIWALI

A very Happy Diwali to all! I remember how my last diwali was, I was not well, could'nt study and I got many kt's in the exams as well, exactly one year later, now I am in complete control and very happy with life. I am a Computer Engineer now and I am joining infosys on 10th november, start of a hopefully successful career.

There are many things I like about Diwali, the lights all around, the smile on everyone's face, the presence of happiness around and offcourse I love opening Diwali gifts, especially I love chocolates and electronics.

It is almost a month now in my job at first source, the process training has started, we are learning wht to say and wht all to do on calls, although it is no rocket science, we need to be disciplined and strictly follow the guidelines to keep or improve our quality ratings.

Also abt a fortnight from now, everybody is coming over at our place for the weddings, this time we are keeping the diwali lights right till january as we celebrate the marriage of Vaibhav and Bhakti. I hope everything goes well and everybody has a great time.

India defeated australia in the second test match of the test series, Ganguly is playing his last series, the Prince of Kolkota will be missed by many of his fans, and he did score a century in the last test match so he is quitting in style. Also MS Dhoni lead the team very well and also batted very well and was man of the match. It was his second test match as captain and he has 100% record.

I have made many new friends too at first source and hope to do so in mysore......

Life is Good

Hi all, its been 20 days in my first job, my pre process training is complete, my process training starts from tomorrow. It has been sooo much fun, even more fun than my college days, I never expected the happiness I would get in this job.

Well there is even better news, I got my joining letter at Infosys, its on 10th of november, in Mysore, which is the best training centre in the world. For me the real thing will begin then.

Coming back at my First Source job, we all learnt soo much, we learnt the basic PPEVA i.e. Pitch, pace, Energy, Volume and Articulation, which are necessary to be modulated while on call. We learnt a lot about UK pronunciation ,the culture, and from tomorrow we will learn abt the process. The timing of my process training are from 6 to 3, yes 6pm to 3am ,atleast on the first day, the reason being there is a lot of demand for CSA in talktalk.

I also got Reebok shoes today, my previous one got damaged ,so I got one for 1300 from BATA, I have to wear casuals in INfosys as well. Today I will also learn how to wear a tie, the windsor knot, Tie is mandatory on mondays and tuesdays ,its like a dream come true, INFOSYS!

Also I am looking forward to my siblings marriages ,two of them ,I wish both of them a very happy and successful marriage life.

Talk talk

My first job! A BPO ,this what I say when u call from UK: "Good Morning, welcome to talk talk broadband you are speaking with kartik. Can I start by taking your BT telephone number please?"
Damn have to make 2 presentations daily in training ,today was not good, will try to compensate tommorrow.

There are 15 of us in the batch ,2 gals in them , everyone one is very good and cooperative and work is a lot of fun. I like dressing up in formal attire and we have to follow that first 4 days every week , so I like that too!

Just to make sure that my tomm. presentation goes well I will type it right here so that I can remember it:

Students may write teachers report cards.

All our school life we have been graded by our teachers. Teachers have been giving us marks and decide our fate, but now there is some new concept coming in the educational field.

University students might soon get to assess their teachers and help decide whether they deserve promotion or not.

While recommending huge pay hikes and incentives for teachers, the university grants commission pay review committe has proposed a system of accountability in the universities and colleges across the country.

Students will asses teachers along with academic heads and colleagues. The process is already in place in the IIT's.

The mulitsource evaluation process requires the teachers capabilities to be certified by academice heads and colleagues as well.

Teachers union have already voiced their concerns about the proposal, saying India is still not prepared for it.

Multiple parameters like regularity in classroom teaching, availibility to students for consultation, participating in faculty meetings, research and other academic activities would be considered while assessing a teachers accountibility.

Though the proposal has been termed unprecedented, the english and foreign language university in hyderabad has already put the process in place.

the presentation is like ijjat ka sawal. hope i do well.

Workshop Day 02

I am glad some new people also read my blog, but damn no one wrote a comment, please write comments people, it takes pain to type everything, the least is ,u can appreciate.

Anyway today was very good, I got a job in a BPO, 11K salary ,kool. Today was also the second day of the workshop, and we all got a certificate too! Kool! Today we learnt about storage devices. There are three types of hard disks:
  1. IDE
  2. SATA
  3. SCSI
IDE and SATA are used in desktop and SCSI are used for server motherboard. A server motherboard can connect to more than one processor, as there are more than one CPU socket in a server motherboard.

HARD DISK

In IDE and SATA u can connect up to 4 hard disks on motherboard. CDROM come in all three types mentioned above as it is also a type of storage device like hard disk. In SCSI there are three versions SCSI-1 supports 7 hard disks, SCSI -2 supports 15 hard disks and SCSI-3 supports upto 31 hard disks.

SCSI is hot swappable ,it means it can be removed when machine is ON, as we all can figure out our pen drive is also hot swappable. A IDE socket has 40 pins and 2 devices can be connected through IDE connector. Latest motherboards have both IDE and SATA slots. If we connect two seperate hard disks together than the master is always called C drive and slave is called D drive.

Bootstrap loader which loads the OS can communicate with C DRive only, therefore even if OS is installed on D drive important booting files are on C drives.

CPU CONNECTORS

NOw lets have a brief on all the connectors u see behind your CPU, where u connect all the wiring. First is the PS/2 connector which has two slots green one for mouse and purple for keyboard. There are some yellow colored serial ports which has 9 pins and are also called COM ports i.e. communication ports. These are the same ports which are used for connecting external modem. In serial port data is transferred in serial format and in parallel ports data is transferred as 8 bits, 16bits,etc at a time.

In new motherboards which have inbuilt modem, the modem is connected on the PCI slot. Parallel ports are used to connect devices such as printers, scanners. NOwadays everything comes with a USB connection, USB is serial and is preferred over parallel ports because USB frequency is very fast ,higher than parallel port.Same way a core 2 duo processor is faster than dual core because of higher frequency.

Continuing with the connectors behind the CPU, there is another connector of 15 pin which is used for disply device, if it is not there we need an additional add on card on motherboard for display.. Then there are the usual connectors for audio and one for gaming joystick. IN new motherboards, display, sound and network are integrated.

How to differentiate between a DDR1 and a DDR2, DDR1 has 184 pins and DDR2 pins have 240 pins. DDR3 also has 240 pins but position of slot is different.

Well this was all I learnt today , the networking part is postponed and I may not attend coz of my new job ,but for those who want to attend the workshop ,the name of institute is IACM and numbers are 26792980 and 26792043.

Thank You.

Workshop Day 01 (Hardware for Dummies)

Hi back after sometime, today I heard the good news that Truptiben , Rakeshbhai and Dhilan are coming for 90days to India, I am very excited. Well today i attended the first of 2 days workshop on hardware maintenance. I would like to share with everyone all that I learnt.

First things first ,lets list out the parts inside a CPU:
  1. Switch mode power supply (SMPS)
  2. Motherboard
  3. Processor
  4. RAM
  5. Add on cards like graphics card, sound card, etc
  6. Storage Device like Hard disk, CDROM, etc
  7. Cooling mechanism like a fan,etc
  8. Cabinet
  9. Cables

Motherboard is a very important part of the CPU, motherboard changes according to the processor. The motherboard is used to connect all the different parts of the CPU. Every motherboard has a speed, devices cannot communicate with each other higher than the motherboard speed.

There is a CPU socket on every motherboard for the processor slot, the P3 processor is 370 pin and P4 processor is 478 pin. The latest processors like Core 2 Duo are pinless, pins are present on socket not processor. Again as I mentioned each processor requires a different type of motherboard.

BACK OF PENTIUM 3 PROCESSOR

There are 2 types of primary memory, RAM and ROM.
ROM: BIOS (Basic INput Output System) is stored in ROM. BIOS contains the following:
  1. POST (Power on Self Test)
  2. CMOS PRogram
  3. CMOS RAM (used to save CMOS data)
  4. Boot Strap Loader to load OS into memory.

ROM

There is a small chip of BIOS on motherboard. BIOS programming is done according to structure of motherboard. ROM nowadays are composed of flash memory, earlier they were semiconductor chips. The history of ROM is as follows:

* Programmable read-only memory (PROM), or one-time programmable ROM (OTP), can be written to or programmed via a special device called a PROM programmer. Typically, this device uses high voltages to permanently destroy or create internal links (fuses or antifuses) within the chip. Consequently, a PROM can only be programmed once.

BIOS

* Erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) can be erased by exposure to strong ultraviolet light (typically for 10 minutes or longer), then rewritten with a process that again requires application of higher than usual voltage. Repeated exposure to UV light will eventually wear out an EPROM, but the endurance of most EPROM chips exceeds 1000 cycles of erasing and reprogramming. EPROM chip packages can often be identified by the prominent quartz "window" which allows UV light to enter. After programming, the window is typically covered with a label to prevent accidental erasure. Some EPROM chips are factory-erased before they are packaged, and include no window; these are effectively PROM.

* Electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) is based on a similar semiconductor structure to EPROM, but allows its entire contents (or selected banks) to be electrically erased, then rewritten electrically, so that they need not be removed from the computer (or camera, MP3 player, etc.). Writing or flashing an EEPROM is much slower (milliseconds per bit) than reading from a ROM or writing to a RAM (nanoseconds in both cases), since available densities are not as great and the cost per bit is higher.

o Electrically alterable read-only memory (EAROM) is a type of EEPROM that can be modified one bit at a time. Writing is a very slow process and again requires higher voltage (usually around 12 V) than is used for read access. EAROMs are intended for applications that require infrequent and only partial rewriting. EAROM may be used as non-volatile storage for critical system setup information; in many applications, EAROM has been supplanted by CMOS RAM supplied by mains power and backed-up with a lithium battery.

o Flash memory (or simply flash) is a modern type of EEPROM invented in 1984. Flash memory can be erased and rewritten faster than ordinary EEPROM, and newer designs feature very high endurance (exceeding 1,000,000 cycles). Modern NAND flash makes efficient use of silicon chip area, resulting in individual ICs with a capacity as high as 16 GB as of 2007; this feature, along with its endurance and physical durability, has allowed NAND flash to replace magnetic in some applications (such as USB flash drives). Flash memory is sometimes called flash ROM or flash EEPROM when used as a replacement for older ROM types, but not in applications that take advantage of its ability to be modified quickly and frequently.

RAM:
It stands for Random accesss memory, it is the memory used by the processor to execute the program. There are two factors of RAM, capacity and speed.

RAM CHIPS

P3 had SDRAM which has 2 notches on it.
P4 had DDR1 RAM with 1 notch on ot.

MOst of us now use DDR2 RAM and DDR3 RAM is also now introduced.

There are 2 types of RAM, SRAM and DRAM. Static and Dynamic RAM respectively. SRAM is made up of flip flops and is used as cache memory with a maximum size of 4MB. DRAM is made up of capacitors and is used in RAM chips, the primary memory. Nowadays cache memory is present in processor ,earlier it was on motherboard.

SRAM is faster and costlier than DRAM, but both are used in any given machine. Normally programs and not data are stored in cache memory.

DRAM are of 3 types SDRAM, DDRSDRAM and RDRAM. SDRAM were used in P3 with speeds having 66, 100 and 133 Mhz. DDRSDRAM are Double data rate SDRAM with speeds of 266MHz and above, DDR1, DDR2 and DDR3 come under these category. RDRAM is very expensive.

Chipset
: A chipset is m ade up of a number of chips require to run a CPU like for eg. a chipset may typically contain 8088, 8086, 8255, 8259, etc chips. PRocessor, memory and graphics are controlled by chipset on motherboard. It controls flow of data.

CHIPSET

There are 2 types of chipset: GMCH (Graphic memory control hub) and ICH (input output control hub).

Well this was all I learnt in today's 2 hour workshop and I hope this must be helpful to you, you can post any comments or questions u need.

Thank You.

Carbon

Well it might not look important but Carbon is unique, we often hear Carbon Dioxide, but Carbon alone is a very precious element. Carbon is one of the oldest elements known to mankind. Carbon is a chief element in coal which we have used since years to create fire and generate heat as well as electricity.

Carbon is the fourth most abundant element in the universe by mass after hydrogen, helium, and oxygen. It is present in all known lifeforms, and in the human body, carbon is the second most abundant element by mass (about 18.5%) after oxygen. This abundance, together with the unique diversity of organic compounds and their unusual polymer-forming ability at the temperatures commonly encountered on Earth, make this element the chemical basis of all known life.

There are several allotropes of carbon of which the best known are graphite, diamond, and amorphous carbon. The physical properties of carbon vary widely with the allotropic form. For example, diamond is highly transparent, while graphite is opaque and black. Diamond is among the hardest materials known, while graphite is soft enough to form a streak on paper. Diamond has a very low electric conductivity, while graphite is a very good conductor. Also, diamond has the highest thermal conductivity of all known materials under normal conditions. All the allotropic forms are solids under normal conditions but graphite is the most thermodynamically stable.

There has been a new revolution called nanotechnology ,where science tries to make everything as small as possible. I had once attended a seminar in the UK council, where I first heard about carbon nanotubes, which again involves carbon.

CARBON NANOTUBE

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are allotropes of carbon with a nanostructure that can have a length-to-diameter ratio greater than 1,000,000. These cylindrical carbon molecules have novel properties that make them potentially useful in many applications in nanotechnology, electronics, optics and other fields of materials science, as well as extensive use in arcology and architectural fields. They exhibit extraordinary strength and unique electrical properties, and are efficient conductors of heat. Inorganic nanotubes have also been synthesized.

Microsoft vs Google

The biggest experiment in the history of mankind has started ,and nothing is gonna happen to us or the universe because of it, it will only bring useful results to solve several mysteries about the universe and its origin.

Well today I would like to talk about two big software companies of my time Microsoft and Google. Google is a fairly new company founded in 1995 but has grown ever since. It has the famous search engine, gmail, orkut, blogger, google health and many other things. It is very popular name and has become number one company in IT industry.

Microsoft ,on the other hand was founded in 1975. In 1983 Microsoft announced the development of Windows, a graphical user interface (GUI) for its own operating system (MS-DOS) that had shipped for IBM PC and compatible computers since 1981. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates made a fortune out of this company and was the richest man in the world for quiet a while.

Microsoft had many competitors ,one of them was netscape, netscape had developed a browser netscape navigator , which became very popular until micorsoft started shipping IE with its operating system , Google has recently launced a beta version of its browser chrome.

With linux and open source gaining popularity and Bill Gates resigning, and perhaps many other reasons have made google ,the numero uno now.

Will the world end tomorrow~!

As physicists get set to recreate the Big Bang, German chemistry professor Otto Rossler predicts that their experiment will actually create a mini black hole that will suck all life and light into it and lead to the end of the world. On Wednesday, somewhere below the French-Swiss border, scientists at CERN (a European organisation for nuclear research) are getting ready to drive two beams of particles into each other at close to the speed of light in a machine called the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

This will recreate the Big Bang and answer questions about the origins of life, the universe and everything. Black hole creation Though no one really knows what 'will' happen, all sorts of theories of sudden annihilation abound.

CERN's strongest opponent Otto R, a German chemistry professor, argues that just as with the Big Bang, this experiment too will create a mini-black-hole, an intense gravitational field that will keep sucking in matter until the entire world, and all its light, is gone. To counter the bad press, a rap video on CERN is doing the rounds on YouTube.

Presumably made by the young scientists of the organisation, the video explains everything related to the project in a fun, literally off-beat way. The hugely popular video reiterates a statement made by CERN Director General Robert Aymar: "The LHC will enable us to study in detail what nature is doing all around us.

The LHC is safe, and any suggestion that it might present a risk is pure fiction." If Thursday comes And in case you wake up Thursday morning and wonder why doomsday didn't arrive, the Mayans might have an answer for you.

Mahatma Gandhi

He is called the Father of the Nation. He bought India its independence and that too without any war or violence, he did it through his weapon called satyagraha. He is such an important person in the history of India that we have his photo on every currency note. He signifies the qualities of truth, love and non violence.

Every educated Indian knows what all he has done for India's Independence, he did a lot of satyagraha, fasting and dandi march. He was born on 2nd October 1869, and every year this day is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti and is a national holiday.

Gandhi first employed non-violent civil disobedience as an expatriate lawyer in South Africa, in the resident Indian community's struggle for civil rights. After his return to India in 1915, he set about organising peasants, farmers, and urban labourers in protesting excessive land-tax and discrimination. Assuming leadership of the Indian National Congress in 1921, Gandhi led nationwide campaigns for easing poverty, for expanding women's rights, for building religious and ethnic amity, for ending untouchability, for increasing economic self-reliance, but above all for achieving Swaraj—the independence of India from foreign domination.

Gandhi was a practitioner of non-violence and truth, and advocated that others do the same. He lived modestly in a self-sufficient residential community and wore the traditional Indian dhoti and shawl, woven with yarn he had hand spun on a charkha. He ate simple vegetarian food, and also undertook long fasts as means of both self-purification and social protest.

There is also a very hit bollywood film based on Gandhiji, called Lage Raho Munnabhai starring Sanjay Dutt and Vidya Balan, it is a must watch movie for those who don't know much about Gandhiji and it is also good entertainment movie.

Ganpati Bappa Morya

I was just thinking that one day, my wife and kids or may be grand kids will be able to read my thoughts in my post. I believe that Blogger ,if stays long enough could make me immortal, also it is a medium by which someone can know a person better.

Today is 3rd September 2008, Ganesh Chaturthi, all the roads of parla are filled up with decorative lightings, Mumbai celebrates Ganesha Chaturthi in a big way ,especially the lal baag ka raja ,ganesha is highly celebrated ganesha in mumbai, this year it completed its 75 years, and all the celebrities go to lal baag ka raja ,it is a very high security area.

Ganesha Festival is a day on which Lord Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati, is believed to bestow his presence on earth for all his devotees. It is celebrated as it is the birthday of Lord Ganesha. The festival is observed in the Hindu calendar month of Bhaadrapada, starting on the shukla chaturthi (fourth day of the waxing moon period).

Typically, the day falls sometime between August 20 and September 15. The festival lasts for 10 days, ending on Ananta Chaturdashi. This festival is observed in the lunar month of bhadrapada shukla paksha chathurthi madhyahana vyapini purvaviddha. if chaturthi prevails on both days, the first day should be taken. Even if chaturthi prevails for complete duration of madhyahana on the second day, but if it prevails on previous day's madhyahana period even for one ghatika (24 minutes) the previous day should be taken.

Lord Ganesha is a highly celebrated God in Hindu religion, many people have His idol above of their main door, before doing any good thing we say "Ganpati Bappa Morya" ,also in a wedding we do Ganesh Puja. What more Ganesha's elder brother name is "Kartik".

Big Boss 2

The season 2 of Big Boss has started at it is hosted by the dazzling shilpa shetty. I recently read an add in the newspaper that a mom was telling his son watching TV that it is BigBos 2 not India's Most Wanted. The people in big boss 2 are all antics, some are druggist like rahul mahajan. He is although the life of the house and also flirts with monica bedi ,whom I like too.

Monica Bedi has gone through very bad times, she has stayed in jail. She looks a very innocent women. She is very beautifull and someone whom u can show ur parents, to marry to. She is a sweet and simple girl and I like her.

I also liked 3 girls in Khatron Ke Khiladi the fear factor show, Urvashi, Aditi and Yana. I had uploaded their pics in a previous post. One day I will marry a beautifull girl too and I am telling you if I marry someone that someone will be very special.

I also started going to the gym ,its nearby. It is called Vile Parle gymnasium, it is very big it has 38 equipments ,the most I have ever seen. It is very cheap too. I have previously been to gyms like Prabodhan Thakre, U K Health SPa and Parle Tilak ,but I like the present one the most.

I also like to add I am all for Katrina Kaif, she is very good too! So is Kajol and I also like Jenifer Ainston and Angelina Jolie but I got a gr8 pic of Katrina now ,so I will upload that too!

Quark, Lepton and Gluon

A QUARK

A Brief History of Time is a very famous book written by the great Stephen Hawking, I bought this book like a year ago. The matter written in it was so complex that no sooner did I read a couple of pages I would feel drowsy and sleepy, but now that I am a Computer Engineer, there is very less pressure on me and I read 30 pages in one go.

Till about 100 years ago we all thought that an atom is the most fundamental particle in the universe, then we found about electrons, then neutrons and then protons. Then came the concept of anti matter and we found positrons as well. I read about quarks and gluon in the book and found lepton while searching for the former online.

A quark is a generic type of physical particle that interacts via all four fundamental forces which are gravitation, electromagnetism, weak interaction and strong interaction. The quark forms one of the two basic constituents of matter, the other being lepton.Various flavors of quarks combine in specific ways to form protons and neutrons, in each case taking exactly three quarks to make the composite particle in question.

Leptons are a family of fundamental subatomic particle, composed of the electron, the muon, and the tauon (or tau particle), as well as their associated neutrinos (electron neutrino, muon neutrino, and tau neutrino). Leptons are spin 1⁄2 particles, and as such are fermions. Leptons do not strongly interact, in contrast to the quarks.

In particle physics, gluons (glue and the suffix -on) are elementary particles that cause quarks to interact, and are indirectly responsible for the binding of protons and neutrons together in atomic nuclei.

Well the bottom line is that neither atom and now neither and electron, proton or a neutron are fundamental particles and the fundamental particles will keep getting smaller as their constituents are discovered.

One more thing I have been reading in a brief history of time is the attempt to unify the two theory of quantum mechanics and the general relativity to form a common theory called quantum gravity.

Quantum gravity is the field of theoretical physics attempting to unify quantum mechanics, which describes three of the fundamental forces of nature (electromagnetism, weak interaction, and strong interaction), with general relativity, the theory of the fourth fundamental force: gravity. One ultimate goal hoped to emerge as a result of this is a unified framework for all fundamental forces— called a "theory of everything" (TOE).

Dad's birthday

Hi all, quite a while since my last post, i was kinda busy so did'nt have time, but here I am. So much has happened in these days, there was the mahabachat sale at big bazar ,me and mom went there 4 days in a row to do shopping of worth a total 13 grands, I bought 2 sultan sherwanis and some formal wear to wear at infosys.

Also my favorite show Khatron ke Khiladi got over, in the final were my dear Urvashi and Netra, unfortunately, Urvashi lost and the show ended, it was good entertainment throughout. Now the second season of big boss has started and today was the first day, they have a freakin first task: at a time only one person can sleep and 14 of them can together sleep for only 100 hrs, lets c what happens.

A big disgrace for the Indian cricket team, after losing the test series ,they lost the first one day match comprehensively , we were no match to the lankans, actually it's not that we are degrading much ,rather the sri lankans are getting better everyday.

Today was dad's birthday, not many know that the official birthday of dad is different from the real bday, today me and mom got cake (I LOVE EATING CAKE),pav bhaji and veg biryani, mane haji audhkar aave chhe. We also got dad a nice shirt which he wore today at work , it looked good on him. I have uploaded a pic of dad when he came back from work.

I also sent my resume for the job of a trainee in hardware maintenance, awaiting positive response on that!

Mike Phelps

A few days ago I had written a post on abhinav bindra winning the first gold medal for India in individual category, well he not only won a gold medal he practically became a millionare after doing that, but who is this Mike Phelps.

Well Mike is a swimmer and today I saw a 30 mins show on him on a news channel called man or machine ,he is a phenomenal athelete ,he is from another planet, he has individually won 11 gold medals in swimming till now ,this year he's won 5 out of them and in all of 5 he has broken world record timings, most of being his own records.

Michael Phelps is looking to become the most decorated Olympian in history, vying for eight gold medals in a single Games. He won 6 gold medals at the age of 19 in athens at the last olympics, has already won 5 in china and is good to go further in london in 2012!

Wht else in Khatron ke Khiladi ,pooja got out, so aditi, urvashi and netra are in the finals which are tommorrow, tommorrow is also a grand episode with ultimate stunts, will be fun.

I will miss Yana

As you must be knowing I have been watching this fear factor show "khatron ke khiladi" ever since it started ,it started with 13 girls and now there are only 4 left.

Everyday one girl who is unable to complete both the stunts has to leave, today one of my favorite Yana Gupta, boy she's hot and I love her ascent ,had to leave, she was a fearless contender and a favorite to win the show but unfortunately she had to leave.

I actually like 3 girls in the show, Aditi Govitrikar, Urvashi Sharma and Yana Gupta, Yana left today but the other two are still there, they are all gorgeous ,also my latest crush is Katrina Kaif ,I am mad about her ,she is so sensuos and sexy and has looks to die for.

Also today I learnt how to add pics to my post ,I saw some pics on my sister Bhakti's blog so I decided to add some myself too! Haha in this blog I will add all the babe's pics!

Abhinav Bindra

He's young, he's good looking, hardworking and he just won India it's first ever individual gold medal at the olympics, he made us all proud. India finally after a wait of 108 years won a gold medal in individual event and we hope this is the first of many.

No sooner did he won the gold medal ,all the state government started anouncing lakhs of rupees as a reward to him, congratulations came from all the parts of the world ,Indians are very happy and proud that ,India finally won a gold medal at olympics.

India has so much talent, it just need to be explored at nurtured, we also are not short of money ,we must use them correctly ,actually its a shame that despite the resources we barely win a medal or two at the olympics, the authorities should wake up and be professional and support sportsmen more and more.

Also today India lost third test aginst Sri Lanka in idea test series to loose the series, still the cricketers will earn millions in endorsements whereas other athletes strugle to find sponsors!

A Brilliant 42

Hi ,I am kinda getting bored now of this long vacation, wondering when my joining date will come, I have not much to do other than eat, sleep , watch TV, eat and sleep. After a long time I played cricket today with my friends in the opposite building.

We were 5 and we decided to play number number, I came 3rd in batting, by the way I am a left handed batsmen and a wicketkeeper, I am horrible bowler, I rarely bowl, rather I rarely get to bowl but my batting is highly respected.

So , here I came number 3 in batting and started slowly but then approximately started hitting a six every over, boy it was fun, then everyone started planning my dismissal, advising the bowler what to bowl, that never happens in our gully cricket but I made that happen.

Then a bowl came which pitched outside offstump and came in sharply and also kept low and shattered my stumps ,everyone celebrated like they had got the best batsman in the world, I was dissapointed I missed out on a 50 but at the end of the game I was the highest run scorer by a long margin, the second highest being 10, now you know the brilliant batsman I am.

I also watched om shanti om the movie of shar rukh khan and deepika padukone ,from 2000 to 2400 hrs, it was good, I had slept through the afternoon and some part of the evening ,so was'nt getting sleep so came to post a post on my blog, Good Day everybody!

Batman, Hancock and Veg. Biryani

Hi today dad has gone on an official visit to banglore, I get to eat outside food, something I enjoy ,I also equally enjoy home food though, I got Veg. Biryani for 40 bucks from R.K.

I also got a DVD which contains 4 movies, they are: Batman The Dark Knight, Hancock, The Wackness and the LASt Mistress, all for just 40 bucks ,now had I gone to watch The Dark Knight in theatres it would have atleast cost me 150 bucks , double that if you have a girlfriend and here I get 4 ,movies in just 40 bucks ,it happens only in India.

From tomorrow I will watch one movie everyday, I have heard that the Dark KNight is very good, lets see how it is, I also beat australia 2 to nil in a 3 match test series in India, offcourse australia was computer and I was India, man of the series Rahul Dravid.

This weekend I will contact my friend who is working at infosys and find out if there is something I can study now to prepare myself for infosys and start studing next week ,till then enjoy!

The Moment of Truth

It is the name of the new series which started today on star world, it's aptly called "the moment of truth" , I saw the first episode today and it was pretty entertaining.

Here is what happens, first of all there are no stars just normal americans who take part, first they go through a lie detector test of 50 questions before thaey play the game, in the game they are asked 21 questions out of the 50 ,all with an answer of either yes or no.

The catch is the questions keep getting more and more personal and emberasing as u are not only answering in front of the whole world but three of your family/ friends are also present right in front of you and you have to choose between money and sanity.

The first contestant answered 12 or so questions and then gave an incorrect answer to go home empty handed, the max price to win is $500,000. That is some money and it has to be considering what you have to go through.

Just wondering if I ever get a chance how much would I win?

A Trip to Remember

Yesterday I went to shirdi, as I cleared all my subjects with good marks ,I decided to go there, but it was a trip to remember for many reasons, there were also many lessons to be learnt, read on.

We were supposed to start at 7 in the morning but we got late, I got a stupid dream that I have to give robotics viva, but then I consoled myself that everything is over I am a Computer Engineer now and got up, had some breakfast, kellogs chocos in milk and left with baa, mom and dad.

The car that's dad's friend had sent was Mahindra Logan, it is kinda new car and they call it the wide body logan and indeed it was wide body and very spacious and comfortable, off we went on NH3 towards Shirdi.

We had a halt in Bhagat Tarachand for some breakfast, I had my rawa masala dosa and some of baa's sada dosa, eat everything pretty quickly as I was kinda hungry.

We reached shirdi at 1430 in the afternoon, late due to traffic jams ,which were because one fire truck went crashing in to the side road and one truck completely burnt itself in the middle of the road.

Baa and dad got direct darshan as Baa is senior citizen, mom and I went throught the hour long queue, we all skipped lunch because of the darshan and traffic jam.

After darshan we started around 1630 hrs for return journey and reached bhagat tarachand again at 2100 for dinner, we had skipped lunch so I was very hungry, we all ordered special thali, it had one paneer shaak, one mix vegetable, dahi bundi raita, one bengali sweet, dal fry and jeera rice and 3 chapatis, everything was hot and delicious, I was so hungry and liked it so much that I finished everything within a whisker also ordered two extra rotis and took baa's paneer shaak as she did'nt wanna have it.

When I was about to eat the jeera rice and dal fry I began to feel very uneasy, couldnt eat, after a few seconds I vommitted everything out, because I had taken very big bites and ate very quickly, I felt very bad that I was unable to digest all the tasty food but I learnt a lesson ,no matter how hungry you are always eat slowly, else everything will come out again.

I have taken a few pics which I have uploaded on my orkut profile. It was after all a trip to remember and a few lessons learnt.

Cricket

It is the favorite sport of millions of people around the world, it is one the most commercial game ever and it is my favorite sport too, it is Cricket.

In my school days I used to play cricket in the neighboring Rajpuria Hall compound ,I still remember the joy I would get when I would hit those towering sixes in to the opposite building, it was like something you enjoy doing and want to do again and again.

I also remember one day when I bowled out my good friend Sunil ,I had very few wickets in my cricket career, I was mainly a batsman and sometimes a wicketkeeper. The bowl that got sunil out was an inswinging yorker!!!

I had also damaged some things while playing cricket ,I broke the window glass once and I also broke the big lamp on top of the gate of maheshwar milan....boy I am some hitter of the ball.

I also had been to the playgrounds sometimes to play cricket, two matches which I remember are one in which I played on the side of navswarop society against gujrat society, in which the opposition ran away while losing and one which I played with my school friends in which I was the wicketkeeper and took 3 stumpings again we won the match.

I also had gone for season cricket in my bhavans college as a wicketkeeper batsman, I remember the other guys shooting season balls at me with me without any gloves and how I batted ..not very well, although I did manage to get first class in FYJC SCience without tutions.

Well these are my memories of the game cricket, u can write comment on cricket or any other sport u have played.

Today the eliminated girls got a second chance in Khatro ke Khiladi, it is a show like fear factor with all gorgeous women taking part in it, I think two women stand out offcourse beauty wise yana gupta and urvashi sharma, i love them both ...they look awesome..although too bad yana gupta got eliminated in the second chance too urvashi is still there to ponder upon...so wht's your favorite show?

I have been watching the famous series of friends also for quite a while now and I like it very much . the timing of comic scenes are simply fantabulous ,I am sure u like friends too.

I am planing to study oracle 9i and give the certification exam while I still have time, my job won't start atleast till september, and I wanna go in the database field, I dream to be a DBA some day.

What else, I love reading readers digest ,I got the last six months issues from my cousin in bhavnagar, they are very informative read, also I have subscribed to digit the technology magazine so I read that too...tell me what do u read in your spare time?

Again I would like to say I love pav bhaji!

Life

Hi I am back in the middle of the night at 325 am. Kya kare nind nahi aati, I have a very rollicking mind which sometimes thinks so much that it does not let me sleeep ,rahter say I have a highly active and thinking brain.

Do you ever think about your life, what you wanna do ,offcourse the answer would be have a descent education, a descent job ,a descent spouse and a descent family and all that. I don't like and have never liked normal life, I always wanna be different ,someone extraordinary.

I think I have been given a limited amount of time to live and my aim should be to do something that will cause some kind of a revolution or may be something that will change the way we live ,I don't know what but all I know is one day I will do something that will have a very high impact on mankind.

I know saying is far more easier then doing, one needs to be patient and work hard constantly, qualities that define a great human being. I am not that patient and I rarely work hard, but I believe I have the power of thinking and knowledge interpretation. I love reading science theories, you will soon see a blog on relativilty and I adore Stephen Hawkings.

Well a blog should not have lengthy posts else it will feel boring and have less readers so here is my perspective of life, why don't u share your point of you on your life.
